Overcoming Thoughts of Failure – Simon

Overcoming thoughts of failure can be such a hard process to comprehend. We have all had moments where we have felt like we have failed and trying to forget those thoughts can feel near impossible.

I experienced this recently and for days after I was telling myself that I was useless, all I could think about was this feeling. I could not imagine looking past these feelings. Family and Friends were brilliant as they reminded me that I am not useless and even though I could hear what they were saying, it was not going in.

What finally changed my mindset, funny enough, was reading a quote on Instagram. It read “If you try and fail, congratulations, most people won’t even try.” It resonated with me instantly and like a light switch, my mindset immediately changed.

We all focus on failing, but we do not look at the positives. Failing is trying, but not trying is failing.

So never punish yourself for trying something and failing. You are doing something amazing by trying something and you are trying to better yourself each time you try.

Next time you feel this way, remember “If you try and fail, congratulations, most people won’t even try.”
