Do I see a link?

100% there can be. If we’re not happy with our physical health cosmetically or we have a health issue affecting us physically, then it can change the way we feel.

If your physical health is getting in the way of your day-to-day life, and/or causing you pain, then this will almost guarantee that it affects your day-to-day mental health.

How does your physical health impact your mental health?

For myself, I get low when I have a physical health issue, or when I have to go to the Dr’s or hospital for something that needs looking at. I tend to think the worst straight away and immediately think that something far worse must be wrong with me, which then makes me feel down.

Do you do anything specifically for your physical health that impacts your mental health?

For me, running is key for keeping my physical health in check. I also lift weights too, but it doesn’t fuel me the same way that running does. Running gets you out in the fresh air and away from everything. I find you’re also less likely to get distracted from other people and your phone.

But I think there is something for everyone. Do what works for you. Running works for me, but you may find walking or swimming is best for you. Don’t do something that you don’t want to do, as I have found it will never help you.
